Texas Southern University
Guided by my philosophy of “servant leadership,” many exciting activities that both celebrate our 60 years of excellence and promote a sustainable future of service to students are taking place.
Notably, the state of Texas both fully funded our budget appropriations for the next two years and also increased our funding. This support from the state will enable us to continue enhancement of our academic programs. We proudly hold accreditations ranging from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) to the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). As the producer of the majority of teachers in the largest school district in Texas, our educator preparation programs enjoy accreditation from the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Moreover, we now offer several new graduate programs such as the M.S. and Ph.D. in Administration of Justice and an MBA with a concentration in Health Care Administration.
With one of the most diverse faculties in the country you will be assured of a true market place of ideas and opportunities. We are also improving service to our students through the establishment of a new Student Financial Services Office to address your specific needs. Our campus is growing with the opening of a new building to house the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs and College of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences which will offer a state-of-the-art learning environment.
