About Us

Oxon Cove Park is a national park. Our resources include a historic 19th Century plantation house, a working farm, a hiker/biker path along the Potomac River, and almost 500 acres to explore. We preserve these historic, natural, and cultural resources for the enjoyment of all. Our programs highlight the history of the property, including its role in the War of 1812, the Underground Railroad, and the founding of St. Elizabeth's Hospital. We also have daily cow-milking and chicken-feeding programs, and tractor-drawn wagon rides. We hold ecological programs along the waterside which highlight the importance of stewardship in the Potomac River watershed. There is something for everyone at Oxon Cove Park.
