The LPD has a variety special effort units. These units allow citizens to become engaged with the LPD and help make the community a better place.
About Us
Victims Advocate volunteers assist officers with distressed citizens in a crisis. Victim Advocate volunteers provide support, comfort, and referrals for victims and families when a traumatic event occurs. Volunteers are essential in assisting officers with citizens in dealing with situations of death, serious traffic accidents, house fires. Volunteers work in pairs and are on call 12-hour blocks from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
