Natural Bridge State Park

  • Mission

To conserve the natural, scenic, historic, and cultural resources of the Commonwealth, and provide recreational and educational opportunities consistent with the good stewardship of these lands, water and facilities that leave them unimpaired for future generations.

    About Us

Natural Bridge State Park was dedicated on September 24, 2026, becoming the 37th state park in Virginia. It is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark. At the center of the park the 200-foot tall Natural Bridge sits in a limestone gorge carved by Cedar Creek.

The park is more than just the Bridge; lush forests and rolling meadows showcase the areas karst terrain, and vistas of surrounding mountains and the James River Valley compete with the Bridge itself. The park includes 10 miles of hiking trails, including the Cedar Creek Trail which leads from the park's Visitor Center under the Bridge to Lace Falls with it's 50-foot cascade.
