Youth Opportunity Community Center and BCPS #858

  • Mission

The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employers and job seekers in order to enhance and promote the local economy.

    About Us

Older teens and young adults ages 17-24 who are out of school and out of work can connect with academic classes, GED prep, job training, and other services through YO Baltimore. At the city’s two YO Centers - one in West Baltimore and one in East Baltimore - young people can build on their skills and strengths to get back on track.

Located within the Westside YO Center, the YO Academy is an alternative public high school operated by YO in partnership with Baltimore City Public Schools. Students are referred by the BCPS Office of Student Placement.
