About Us

The Union County Library System serves as the public library for Union, SC. The main library facility is the Union Carnegie Library, which was built in 1905 as the first Carnegie Library in South Carolina, and serves as the main facility for library services in Union, SC. The Library was renovated in 2018 and now contains partnership spaces for United Way and workforce development. Additionally, the Union Carnegie Library serves as the academic library for USC Union. This unique library has been recognized as a finalist for the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Services and is a 2019 SC Preservation Honor Award recipient.
