About Us

The mission of Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) at the U.S. Department of Commerce is to foster the growth and competitiveness of minority-owned firms in the United States. This is accomplished by leveraging the expertise and resources of a nationwide network of public and private sector entities to provide MBEs with a diverse range of business services. MBDA provides grants and expertise designed to impact supplier diversity programs, entrepreneurial and economic policies, capital investment strategies, and business research. The efforts of the agency cross public, private, state and local governmental, business and institutional interests. The programs significantly contribute to on job creation, economic revitalization, community sustainability as well as regional, national and global competitiveness.
