    American Museum Of Natural History Physical Science Educator The American Museum of Natural History is one of the world's preeminent scientific and cultural institutions, and has as its mission to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition.We are looking for a full-time Physical Science Educator to join our team on this mission, and bring their passion for earth science and astronomy to the Education Division where you will guide the learning of youth aged 10 to 24+ participating in our various programming.Candidates should identify as a life long learner eager to advance their technical skills, adopt new pedagogies, and experiment with new formats of informal learning.The Educator will spend much of their time teaching in our classes and internship programs. Other responsibilities include developing/revising curricula, participating in professional learning opportunities, teaching at special events, and supporting colleagues and students when needed. The Educator will report directly to the Senior Manager of Youth Teaching & Learning and will work closely with other staff educators and program coordinators members of the educator team.Job duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Teach YI programs, including internships, Lang Science Scholars, Science Alliance, and school partnerships.
    • Revise or design physical science curricula as needed throughout the year for various program departments.
    • Participate in professional learning, including class observation, educational professional development (including special exhibits), and co-teaching with more senior educators.
    • Manage an academic-year work schedule which is typically Tuesday-Saturday. Depending on the season, scheduling may also include after-school (until 7pm), school holidays and peak programming during the summer (5-6 weeks).
    The expected salary for the Physical Science Educator is $56,036.53/annual. The AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience. Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in education or science.
    • Experience co-teaching.
    • Experience with coding, computational thinking, data science, or data visualization software.
