    Description

Bonsai Leadership Group is excited to support HERA in its search for a Social Media Associate.

    ABOUT HERA

Established in 2023, HERA is a dynamic, global non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to protecting the health, income, and dignity of women on the frontlines of extreme heat. Given the significant gap in the understanding of extreme heat and its disproportional effects on women, HERA was co-founded by four women leaders who care deeply about addressing climate change and its impacts on women and vulnerable communities.

In its first two years, HERA has raised more than $20 million to expand its programs and impact. Today, HERA operates in eight countries, including Sierra Leone, Pakistan, Ghana, Liberia, Thailand, India, Kenya, and the United States. With local partners, HERA creates and delivers practical, durable solutions shaped by the experiences and needs of marginalized women toward better health, more income, and sustained dignity. THE OPPORTUNITY

HERA seeks a creative, highly organized, and globally minded Social Media Associate to support the growth, consistency, and impact of its digital presence. Reporting to the Communications Director, the Social Media Associate will coordinate HERA’s day-to-day social media presence, maintain a forward-looking global content calendar, create compelling written and visual content, monitor engagement, and use analytics to strengthen digital strategy over time.

The Social Media Associate will collaborate closely with the Communications Director, Communications Manager, program teams, fundraising colleagues, and external consultants or vendors, including video editors, graphic designers, photographers, and content creators in different regions.

This is a hands-on role for a strong writer and digital storyteller who understands how social media moves, adapts to changing platforms, and translates complex global issues into clear, accessible, and compelling stories.

Successful candidates will bring excellent writing skills, strong creative instincts, solid multimedia production abilities, and experience creating content for global or cross-cultural audiences, along with the organizational discipline to coordinate work across teams, time zones, campaigns, and platforms.
