- Contract position starting in early January 2026 - April 30th, 2026 with potential for extension.
- Hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office (Monday-Thursday) and 1 day remote (Friday).
- The current office is within walking distance of the Convention Center and Chinatown Metro stations and will relocate this spring to a location near Metro Center.
- Hours: 35 hours/week. 9:00am - 5:00pm with 1 hour lunch break.
Recruiting and HR Administrator
The Choice is partnering with a higher education association in Washington DC to find a Recruiting and HR Administrator to provide hands-on support starting in early January 2026 through April 2026 (with the possibility of extension, but this is strictly contract). This role will help support recruitment, employee engagement, and HR project implementation during a period of transition and growth within the organization.
The position reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and will collaborate closely with HR leadership and staff across departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
- Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years similar experience.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification a plus, but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Zoom/Teams; familiarity with SharePoint preferred.
- Experience using HRIS systems, especially Paycom.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing needs.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a diverse and dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: conduct intake sessions with hiring managers, draft job postings, design competency-based interview processes, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, conduct reference and background checks, and support offer management.
- Provide position description and interview design support for a variety of roles (approximately 2–5 open positions at a time).
- Help with onboarding, I-9, and E-verify processes
Employee Engagement
- Support programs and activities that foster employee well-being, inclusion, and engagement.
- Help plan and execute staff events, including wellness and social events, community-building activities, and all-staff meetings.
- Participate and manage logistics for HR-led events.
HR Operations and Projects
- Provide HRIS (Paycom) and reporting support.
- Assist with ongoing HR projects, including learning and development initiatives, holiday events, and office relocation planning (March 2026).
- Contribute to special HR assignments and process improvements as needed.
