The Opportunity
Kidango is seeking an experienced Chief Operations and Strategy Officer (COSO) to lead our organization's operational strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader with proven expertise in implementing strategic frameworks for defining and tracking objectives and outcomes . The COSO will ensure that a well-understood and widelycommunicated strategy drives scaling at Kidango. Reporting to the CEO, the COSO is responsible for driving efficiency, scalability, and performance measurement across all departments; facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring our operations align directly with our mission and strategic goals. The COSO will lead operational functions, including Nutrition Services, Facilities, Administrative Services, and Enrollment.
What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive operational strategies, policies, and methods that support the organization's mission, vision, and growth objectives.
Implementation & Management of Goal-Setting: Lead the design, rollout, and ongoing management of a robust goal-setting system organization-wide. This includes defining clear objectives, measurable key results, alignment of departmental goals, and tracking progress towards targets.
Operational Oversight: oversee the day-to-day operational functions of the organization, including nutrition, enrollment, administrative services, and facilities.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to enhance operationalefficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall organizational performance.
Team Leadership: mentor and lead a diverse team of operational leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring: utilize data and metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and report progress to the CEO and Board of Directors.
Change Management: Drive organizational change initiatives related to new processes, systems, and the adoption of a goal-setting methodology.
Operations:o Oversee agency operations including enrollment, facilities, nutrition services, administrative services, and regulatory compliance.o Hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate direct reports.o Oversee inventory of agency property and stored records in designated storages.o Work as a member of the executive team, promoting the mission and values of Kidango.o Work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse group of people.o Provide excellent customer service to all staff, clients, and partners.o Advocate on behalf of all children, families, and staff.
Oversee construction projects and facilities use agreements with partners.
Participate in activities that further professional growth of self and staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile

While no one candidate will have every experience outlined in the position description, ideal candidates will display the following professional and personal qualities, skills, and characteristics:
Minimum of 10 years of senior operational leadership experience, preferably within a large, high-performance organization.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate high-level vision into concrete, actionable operational plans.
Demonstrated success in implementing a goal-setting framework across an entire organization or large department, including goal setting, alignment, tracking and coaching.
Proven track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiency.
Change Management: Strong skills in leading organizational change, building high performance teams, and fostering a data-driven culture.
Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal, communication, andpresentation skills with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical Prowess: Proficient in using data analytics and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
Knowledge of CA applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures,preferably working with licensed childcare facilities, enrollment and meal production facilities.
Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and use a positive approach with a diversity of people.
Ability to provide leadership, accept responsibility, work independently and set own goals in a professional manner.
BA/BS degree in a related field required
Must pass a health screening and TB test
Must pass background fingerprint clearance
Valid Driver License
Must be 18 years or older

Compensation and Benefits
The nonnegotiable salary for this position is $283,037.88.This role is based at the Fremont, CA headquarters and requires four in-office days per week.Kidango offers a comprehensive, industry leading benefits package, with the additional perks of having the opportunity to empower the potential of young children by serving children and families who face the greatest barriers.
