    Temporary Federal Policy & Advocacy Assistant (Health Policy Non-Profit)

    Location: Washington, DC (remote)

    Hours: around 15 hours/week Monday and Thursday from 10am-4pm. Fully remote but must be in DC.

    Salary: $24 hour

    Type of position: Temporary - 1 month contract

    The Choice’s client, a health nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for inclusive healthcare policy solutions, is seeking an immediate Federal Policy and Advocacy Assistant. This role will focus on day-to-day operations, meeting scheduling, proofreading, managing trackers, and general organization.

    This is a contract position slated to start ASAP and run on a contract basis for around one month approximately with a possibility of extension.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Public Health, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field;
    • Minimum of 2 years of professional administrative experience in calendar management, office management, or equivalent position with similar responsibilities;
    • Proficient knowledge of Zoom, GSuite applications, and Microsoft Office products preferred;
    • Knowledge of calendar management, editing skills, and general organization;
    • Interest in public health policy and knowledge of lobbying preferred;
    • Keen attention to detail and the ability to handle and manage multiple projects.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Assist the Federal Policy and Advocacy team with administrative tasks during a transition period;
      • Support scheduling, meeting invites, and events facilitation, as needed;
      • Perform database entry, general tracking on excel, data management and maintenance tasks;
      • Help with proofreading and accuracy of internal documents;
      • Other tasks as necessary
