Job OverviewCentrum is seeking a visionary and community-centered Executive Director to lead one of the Pacific Northwest's most respected arts and education organizations into its next chapter of growth and impact. Reporting to an engaged Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership for a nationally recognized organization that has spent more than 50 years fostering creative arts experiences through world-class workshops, residencies, performances, and youth programs.

This is a unique opportunity to build on Centrum's artistic legacy while advancing fundraising and earned revenue strategies, strengthening community partnerships, overseeing expanded facilities stewardship responsibilities, and fostering an inclusive culture grounded in creativity, collaboration, and lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead organizational strategy, vision, and operations in partnership with the Board of Directors and senior leadership team.
• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising and revenue-generation strategies to support long-term financial sustainability.
• Build strong relationships with donors, artists, community partners, government leaders, and Washington State Parks stakeholders.
• Provide strategic oversight for facilities, capital planning, and infrastructure initiatives associated with Centrum's expanded Fort Worden campus footprint.
• Serve as the organization's primary spokesperson, ambassador, and advocate within the arts, education, and philanthropic communities.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of senior leadership experience in an arts, cultural, educational, or similarly complex mission-driven organization.
• Demonstrated success leading fundraising efforts, including major gifts, foundation support, government funding, and donor cultivation.
• Proven ability to inspire, develop, and retain high-performing teams through collaborative and authentic leadership.
• Strong financial and operational management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a deep commitment to the arts and creative education.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $165,000-$185,000, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; retirement benefits; life and AD&D insurance; generous paid time off; flexible scheduling; employee assistance programs; and relocation assistance for the successful candidate.
