    Description

    The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Social Work Supervisor to provide clinical and administrative leadership to a team working with HIV and those living with significant medical concerns.

    The clients of the Entertainment Community Fund are diverse and dynamic professionals including but not limited to musicians, actors, dancers, stage managers, set design, hair and make-up stylists and costume designers working in the entertainment and performing arts. The agency is seeking a clinically oriented Supervisor interested in working with people addressing a range of significant and often life changing health concerns.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Supervisor will ensure the delivery of clinical and intensive case management, groups and workshops to HIV Initiative and Disabilities clients, families and significant others adhering to agency policies and procedures. They will assign cases and related responsibilities, provide supervision and coordination of professional development of the team.

    The Supervisor will provide direct client services to address myriad concerns including but not limited to health issues, financial need, mental health concerns or housing instability. Using a clinical case model, they will develop comprehensive plans to address the presenting concern and collaborate with community resources. They will conduct home and hospital visits when necessary.

    The Supervisor will be responsible for program and resource development, identifying needs and creating groups and/or workshops that provide support and/ or education to this population. They will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with internal programs, entertainment unions and employers, community partners and resources to address the needs of this community. They will participate in evaluating emergency grant applications for the agency’s emergency financial program.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work
  • State Licensure or Certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years post-MSW experience including two (2) years of work experience in providing clinical/case management services to people with HIV/AIDS/chronic health issues as well as providing supervision to direct service providers.
  • Should consistently convey a sense of empathy with clients and demonstrate solid clinical acumen. They should value the clinical supervisor/ supervisee relationship process and have the willingness and objective of creating a safe and stimulating working environment with supervisee. Uses the individual and group clinical supervision process to reflect, observe and enhance clinical and supervision practice.
  • Strong advocacy skills, flexibility and good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Worker will adhere and be compliant with NASW code of ethics.
  • ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with the entertainment community helpful.
  • May be required to work an adjusted schedule; evening or weekend hours.
