    Description

    The Choice’s client, a health nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for inclusive healthcare policy solutions, is seeking an immediate Operations and Development Associate to support the Operations and Development department. This role will focus on day-to-day operations, virtual office management, accounting, scheduling, donor database management, event support, and other administrative functions.

    • Hours: around 30 hours/week Monday-Friday as required. (9AM-3PM or 10AM-4PM)
    • Salary: $24 hour
    • In office requirements: The organization work remotely however some occasional in person work will required to support events in DC. Candidates must be based in DMV area and able to commute as needed. The team this position supports is also based in the DMV area.
    • This is a contract position however there is potential for a temporary to hire scenario if it is a good fit.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Public Health, Nonprofit Management, Business, Policy, or a related field;
    • Minimum of 2 years of professional administrative experience in bookkeeping, office management, or equivalent position with similar responsibilities;
    • Proficient knowledge of Zoom, Bill.com, GSuite applications, Raiser’s Edge/NXT, and Microsoft Office products preferred;
    • Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting principles, and experience using accounts payable software;
    • Interest in public health policy and willingness to contribute to policy work;
    • Keen attention to detail and the ability to handle and manage multiple projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the fundraising team with administrative tasks including prospect research, maintaining donor records, and implementation of fundraising campaigns across individual and foundation revenue streams;
    • Support the creation, maintenance and updating of donor lists;
    • Support donor communication tasks, including for event invitations and updates from the CEO;
    • Support scheduling and events facilitation, as needed;
    • Perform donor database entry, management and maintenance tasks;
    • Monitor and conduct tracking of employee timesheets and work with the Accounting team to maintain financial records;
    • Other tasks as necessary
