    Description

    The Choice is seeking a student services administrative assistant for our client- a private, all-boys Catholic high school. The campus is located in downtown DC and it is a very well-regarded institution.

    The position will work in the Office of Student Services. It requires a composed, confident, detail-oriented and organized individual who can maintain confidentiality and professionalism. This role interfaces frequently with students, faculty, and parents regarding attendance, disciplinary, and student support needs.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong professional interest in education and supporting students is a must.
    • Completed Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Previous experience working in school administration (at least two years). Must have prior experience communicating with parents and interfacing frequently with students. Previous experience working with high school students would be a large plus.

    Because this staffing need is starting mid-school year, this will be a contract position likely until their permanent hiring cycle next year. There is definitely potential for a temporary to hire scenario if this is a good fit.

    Schedule: 8:15AM-2:45PM, Monday-Friday, fully in person (approximately 30 hours a week). Upcoming school closures will include: 12/5/2025, 12/20/2025-1/4/2026 for holidays. This person will not work when the school is closed.

    Salary: This is an hourly role. $32 an hour, 30 hours a week.

    Job Duties:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all incoming phone calls to the Office of Student Services
    • Directing students in the office
    • Notifying and/or communicating with parents/guardians regarding student absences, tardiness, early dismissals, and disciplinary issues.
    • Recording and tracking student attendance data accurately using the designated school database or software (Blackbaud).
    • Managing and maintaining the calendar for Office of Student Services staff, including meetings with school counselors and administrators.
    • Performing general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
    • Processing student identification cards and access badges.
    • Assisting with special projects and events as assigned by the Student Services Director.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized office environment.
