Field Coordinator — Paid One-Month Internship ($500 stipend) · Wayne, NJ · Hybrid
Details
Description
Our Wayne-based 501(c)(3) received an AARP grant to make 30 older neighbors' homes safer before winter — and we're hiring one Field Coordinator for a focused one-month engagement (late July–late August, wrapping before fall semester) to get it organized.
The work (hybrid — half phone/home, half around town): working from homeowner leads we provide, you'll call residents to confirm needs and participation; visit Wayne properties to photograph front walkways (exteriors only) and note hazards; collect signed consent forms; help draft each home's ~$300 materials plan; help schedule volunteer improvement days; and support light outreach (local Facebook/Nextdoor posts, neighborhood flyer distribution) to complete the participant list.
Details: $500 flat stipend as an independent contractor under a simple written agreement · ~7–8 flexible hours/week · own reliable car, valid license, and smartphone camera required · genuine patience talking with older adults essential · reference letter on successful completion.
Real, resume-ready nonprofit program experience with visible results in one town. Wayne-area candidates preferred.
This project was made possible by a grant from AARP.
