Content Development Internship

We are NEXO Sicilia, a young, newly-founded social enterprise located in Agrigento, Sicily. We are looking for curious and motivated interns to join our multicultural and dynamic communication and content development department and contribute to projects connected to social impact, international mobility, and community-based initiatives.

Through our work in international mobility, social impact initiatives, and community-based projects, we aim to create meaningful educational, cultural, and professional opportunities for young people across Europe while promoting a more innovative and opportunity-oriented vision of Sicily.

Your role

• Conduct research and analysis on social, political, and community-related topics connected to the third sector and NEXO Sicilia’s initiatives
• Produce written content, articles, and communication materials related to topics such as migration, social inclusion, gentrification, brain drain, youth mobility, and local development
• Contribute to digital storytelling and communication projects aimed at making complex social issues accessible and engaging for different audiences
• Collaborate with the communication team to develop content strategies, key messaging, and communication campaigns
• Create content for social media platforms, presentations, reports, brochures, and digital communication materials
• Support the development and organization of research-based databases, resources, and informational content
• Produce well-researched, fact-checked, and properly sourced content connected to Sicily’s social context and broader societal issues
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for communication initiatives, awareness campaigns, and social impact storytelling projects
• Stay updated on current social, political, and cultural discussions relevant to the organization’s mission and activities
• Participate in a multicultural and collaborative environment focused on communication, critical thinking, and social impact

Apply if this is you:

• You are currently studying or have a background in Sociology, Political Science, Journalism, Communication, International Relations, Humanities, Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Human Rights Studies, or related fields
• You are interested in social and political issues, social impact initiatives, and communicating meaningful topics through research and storytelling
• You enjoy writing, researching, analyzing information, and transforming complex ideas into accessible and engaging content
• You are curious, open-minded, critical-thinking, and motivated to contribute to projects connected to social change and community development
• You are organized, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in multicultural environments
• You have a good command of English (minimum B2 level)
• Experience with content writing, journalism, communication projects, NGOs, volunteering, or social initiatives is appreciated

• Shared accommodation in fully furnished apartments (utilities included)
• Italian language classes (beginner and intermediate levels)
• Administrative support throughout the internship
• Participation in cultural activities and events

Our Requirements:

• You are eligible for the Erasmus+ program or a similar international mobility program, which typically provide you with financial support
• You are available to spend at least 4 months in Agrigento
• You have access to a personal computer suitable for completing the tasks associated with the internship
