    Description

Forest Therapy (often inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku or "forest bathing") involves mindful, sensory immersion in forest environments to improve mental, emotional, and physical health. Nature Therapy and EcoTherapy represent broader psychological and physical practices that foster a deep, reciprocal relationship between humans and the natural world. These practices shift away from intensive physical exertion (like hiking) and instead focus on slowing down, engaging the senses, and using the natural environment as a partner in healing to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve overall cognitive function.

Scope of Forest & Nature Therapy The scope of Forest and Nature Therapy is rapidly expanding globally within public health, mental health care, conservation, and sustainable tourism. Practitioners, researchers, and guides work to integrate Nature Based Solutions into everyday wellness routines, community health programs, and psychological treatments. The scope also heavily intersects with environmental advocacy; as individuals build deeper connections with nature through EcoTherapy, they are more likely to engage in conservation efforts and support sustainable ecological practices.

Why Forest Therapy in Nepal? Nepal provides an unparalleled backdrop for eco-healing due to its opportunity to experience diverse geography, climates, and adventures across unique landscapes. Hosting Forest Therapy initiatives in Nepal strongly aligns with SAST Nepal's core mission to prioritize Nature Based Tourism, Nature Based Solutions, and Natural Resources Capitalization.

Nepal offers incredibly varied environments for therapeutic work, ranging from local community forests to the Annapurna region and the jungles of Chitwan National Park. Furthermore, integrating this program into SAST Nepal allows interns and volunteers to utilize a Project Based Learning (PBL) approach, emphasizing "learning by doing" and "learning by mentorship" in real-world settings. By bringing Forest Therapy to Nepal, practitioners can directly contribute to Conservation Based Tourism and sustainable community development, blending eco-healing with the empowerment of indigenous groups and family farmers
