Summer Camp Teaching Internship

Job Description:

UrbanPromise Trenton is seeking hardworking college students to work in the 2026 SummerCamp program, which has a strong academic focus. Interns will work with the SummerCamp Directors and other key staff in the weeks before camp to develop the summer curriculum and will be responsible for teaching Trenton students in grades 1–8 during the camp. Interns will teach academics in the mornings and assist with activities in the afternoons.

Dates of Employment:

The 2025 SummerCamp runs from June 29 to August 6. Interns will work Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break, at one of two locations in Trenton. All interns will be required to complete approximately 15 hours of training, planning, and preparatory work for the Summer Camp program in June.

Compensation:

Summer Interns will receive a $3,000 stipend.

• Enjoy working with children
• Possess strong classroom management skills
• Pass background checks
• Provide your own transportation and housing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Be an education major
• Have teaching experience
• Speak Spanish fluently (required for one camp location)
