Theatre Now New York is a professional nonprofit theatre company dedicated to the creation, development, and production of new musicals. We support musical theatre writers and help their work move from early development toward production.

We are seeking paid, project-based interns for our upcoming workshop productions of MONTGOMERY and CHRISTMAS EVE IN DIKANKA. Rehearsals take place in November 2026, with performances in December at Theatre 154 in Greenwich Village.

These opportunities suit people interested in theatre production, arts administration, audience services, or nonprofit arts marketing.

    What you may work on

Assignments will depend on the production’s needs and your interests and skills. Areas may include:

    • Production and backstage support: Assist with rehearsal preparation, production logistics, and backstage coordination. Positions available include ASMs, running crew, props, scenic, lights sound, etc.
    • Front-of-house and box office: Help welcome audiences, support ticketing and check-in, and prepare for performances.
    • Marketing and outreach: Assist with promotional materials, social media, and audience outreach.
    • Arts administration: Help organize schedules, communications, records, and project materials.

    What you can gain

    • Practical experience supporting the production of a new musical.
    • A closer understanding of how a nonprofit theatre company operates.
    • Opportunities to develop communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience contributing to a project from rehearsals through performances.
