    Description

    About Us:

The Pettengill House, Inc. is a nonprofit community social service agency serving individuals, children, and families across the greater Amesbury area. For over 30 years, we’ve worked to prevent homelessness, hunger, and crisis by providing comprehensive, compassionate support to those in need.

We’re looking for a creative and motivated Website Design & Development Intern to help us bring our new online presence to life! This is a great opportunity for a student or emerging professional who wants hands-on experience designing and launching a new nonprofit website from the ground up.

    About the Project:

We’re ready to completely redesign our existing website and move to a new, modern, and user-friendly platform. The intern will help create a fresh, engaging design that reflects our mission, improves navigation, and better highlights our services, programs, and impact.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Collaborate with staff to plan, design, and build a new Pettengill House website.
    • Redesign the layout, structure, and content flow for accessibility and ease of use.
    • Optimize the site for mobile devices and search engines (SEO).
    • Ensure brand consistency, strong visuals, and intuitive user experience.
    • Provide training or documentation for staff to maintain the site after launch.

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Student or recent graduate in web design, graphic design, communications, marketing, or a related field.
    • Experience with website builders (Squarespace, WordPress, or similar).
    • Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles.
    • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
    • Passionate about community service and nonprofit work.

    Details:

    • Flexible schedule
    • Internship can be completed remotely, with occasional check-ins at our Amesbury office.
    • Academic credit may be available (if applicable).
    • Great opportunity to gain portfolio experience and make a real impact in your community.
