    Description

    The Cadence Institute for Policy & Society is dedicated to promoting discovery and innovation through interdisciplinary research. Under the leadership of Dr. Edward Summers, the institute focuses on addressing critical social issues, including HIV/AIDS funding, higher education, LGBTQAI+ advocacy, civil rights, and economic and community development. Our work aims to create meaningful change and foster impactful policies for a better society. By collaborating with diverse communities and stakeholders, we strive to drive progress and inclusivity.

    Role Description

    This is a remote nonpaid internship role for a Community Engagement and Grants Intern. The intern will assist with community engagement initiatives, foster relationships with community partners, and contribute to outreach and fundraising strategies. Responsibilities include supporting communication with stakeholders, assisting in community management, and contributing to the development of grant proposals and funding efforts. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community engagement, fundraising, and nonprofit development.

    Qualifications

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships
    • Experience or interest in community engagement and community management
    • Effective communication and customer service skills
    • Motivation to work collaboratively and contribute to mission-driven projects
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Familiarity with grant writing or fundraising is a plus
    • Enthusiasm for social impact and community development

    This is a non- paid position. Please see internship credit from your respective institution. The Cadence Institute may offer a small stipend for the position.
