    Description

    Intern Duties:

    Assist in development of outreach materials for impacted communities and outreach, including meetings, door to door canvassing, fliers and phone/email messaging;

    Support policy research and strategy by monitoring media reports, attending county meetings, etc, participating in virtual coalition meetings;

    Use EPA on line databases and EJ mapping tool to identify vulnerable and impacted areas

    Coordinate all research, outreach and advocacy activities with CWFNC staff, participate in weekly staff calls

    Timeline of Internship

    Flexible, from May through August a total of 10 weeks as arranged with CWFNC

    Compensation:

    A total of $6,000 compensation, paid at a rate of $1500 per month. Reimbursement for travel mileage and other approved expenses.

    Qualifications:

    Some college, including coursework in environmental, social or physical sciences

    Willingness to have flexible schedule, including occasional evening or weekend meetings

    Driver's license and access to a working vehicle

    Strongly prefer candidates based in the western piedmont of NC for the summer of 2025
