Description
Volunteer Park Trust is looking for an outgoing, music loving individual to support our Summer Series at the Amphitheater from June through August. This part-time temporary role will involve weekly prep work (online and in person) and will be onsite at all summer concerts to assist with set up and take down, coordinate on site volunteers and volunteer activities, coordinate with food trucks, check the facility, measure concert attendance, and pass out fliers/information. Hours may vary slightly but will primarily require 5-10 hours of prep work leading up to the concerts and then an additional 5 hours onsite each week for each concert. Concerts are Thursdays July 9 through August 13, from 6-8:30 pm.
This position is a great way to support our popular community concert series (13,000 attendees each summer over the six weeks), become more familiar with the ongoing work of Volunteer Park Trust, and get hands-on experience in event management and project planning.
Prep work:
- Assist Marketing Chair with any social posts or website updates needed
- Confirm volunteer availability and facilitate communication, assist in volunteer training.
- On the Wednesday before each concert, be available to go onsite and position No Parking signs and traffic cones on the street in front of the amphitheater.
- Distribute marketing flyers / posters to promote event
- Participate in tabling activities to promote the concert series, like at Pride in the Park (dependent on timing of hire)
Onsite at all summer concerts
- Weekly onsite hours on concert nights are 4:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- Greet sponsors who have booths at the event, making sure they are set up correctly
- Greet on site volunteers and help coordinate volunteer activities, including tracking sign-ins and hours worked
- Coordinate set-up and take down of Volunteer Park Trust Booth and any onsite activities
- Passing out fliers/information to concert attendees who visit the Volunteer Park Trust booth
- Coordinate with food truck vendors and collecting vendor fee payments and processing that with Seattle Parks Foundation
- Measure attendance at each concert with help of Volunteers and clickers.
- Assist with the distribution and collection of VPT Picnic Blankets
Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Interest in music, previous event project management, or nonprofit administrative work is a plus
Hours: 10 – 15 per week, starting week of June 1 and concluding on or around August 20, 2026.
Compensation: $22/hour
