    Description

    Medical & Public Health Intern — Hospital & Community | Tanzania (On-site, Erasmus+)

    Recognized in 2026 by the Tanzanian Government Prime Minister's Office for Humanitarian Work and winner of the Community Development, International Volunteering & Sustainable Impact Excellence Award 2026.

    Type: Clinical placement / elective

    Location: Dar es Salaam and the Madale village area, Tanzania

    Duration: Flexible, year-round · 8 hrs/day, Monday–Friday

    Ideal for: medicine, nursing, public health, midwifery, health sciences

    Skills: hospital rotations, community health, HIV counseling, nutrition, health education

    About the role

    Join an award-winning program and rotate across hospital departments and village clinics in one placement. Choose from two tracks — a clinical hospital placement or public health & community education.

    What you'll do

    • Complete hospital rotations: medicine, pediatrics, O&G, emergency, radiology, lab, psychiatry, orthopedics, ENT, pharmacy, HIV CTC, and nursing
    • Deliver nutrition education and food-security work
    • Support sports, exercise and wellbeing, and art therapy
    • Contribute to environmental health: water and sanitation
    • Support HIV/AIDS counseling, testing and advocacy
