    Description

    The Women’s Bar Association (WBA) is a state-wide organization dedicated to advancing women in the legal profession and in a just society. The WBA provides women attorneys access to a tremendous professional network, targeted programming, and leadership opportunities, and advocates on behalf of women and families. The Women’s Bar Foundation (WBF) is dedicated to ensuring access to justice for low-income individuals. The WBF is committed to providing free legal assistance to low-income individuals and their families in matters related to domestic abuse, essential legal documents for elders, clemency and other critical legal issues.

    The Administrative Specialist will work under the direction of the Executive Director to ensure the needs of the office and staff, the WBA and WBF boards and other stakeholders are met in a timely manner. The Administrative Specialist’s time is split between the WBA (50%) and the WBF (50%).

    • Manage incoming communications; including letters, email blasts and social media together with other administrative staff.
    • Perform administrative tasks related to the WBA and WBF’s annual fundraisers.
    • Assist with preparing for Board meetings, trainings, other events
    • Perform bookkeeping-related tasks, in coordination with Bookkeeper/Controller.
    • Perform regular deduping of CiviCRM database.
    • Maintain office equipment including computers, copier, and telephones; maintain and replenish inventory and office supplies; communicate with vendors.
    • Assist with miscellaneous projects as requested.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Interest in learning about additional programs.
      • Experience with CiviCRM and content management systems (CMS) such as Wordpress or Drupal preferred, but not required.
      • Familiarity with social media platforms. Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
      • Displays initiative; follows through with assignments and projects. Strong time management abilities.
      • Enthusiastic and positive attitude. Cultural competence.
      • Ability to multi-task, work independently and be a strong team member.
