Business Manager

Saint James Catholic Church in Falls Church is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Manager to provide administrative and operational support to the Pastor and parish leadership team. This key leadership position oversees the financial, human resource, facilities, and administrative functions of the parish and school.

Working closely with the Pastor, School Principal, and Parish Finance Council, the Business Manager is responsible for:

• • Developing and managing the parish annual budget
  • Overseeing all accounting and financial operations for the parish and school
• Establishing and monitoring effective internal financial controls, compliance, and risk management practices
  • Supervising human resource functions and personnel administration
  • Coordinating maintenance, repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects for parish facilities and grounds
  • Managing major procurements, vendor relationships, and service contracts
  • Supporting stewardship initiatives and promoting sound fiscal management practices

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively with clergy, staff, and volunteers, and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications:

• • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; MBA and CPA highly desired
  • Minimum of five years of experience in finance, accounting, or business management
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience with human resources responsibilities
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and database management systems
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and team-building abilities
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong understanding of parish life and mission

Salary range is $80K to $110K, depending on experience.
