Full Time Position Summary
The Director of Operations supports the mission and daily operations of B.R.A.I.N., a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing recovery, rehabilitation, and residual care for adults affected by brain injuries, including stroke, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other neurological conditions. B.R.A.I.N. exists to provide hope, dignity, support, and practical rehabilitation services to survivors and their families through compassionate, Christ-centered care.
The Director serves as a key leadership partner to the President/Executive Director and leadership team by overseeing programs, supporting staff and volunteers, strengthening community partnerships, assisting with fundraising and development efforts, and helping ensure operational excellence across the organization.
This role requires a compassionate leader who combines strong organizational skills with a heart for ministry, rehabilitation, and nonprofit service
Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Administration
- Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations of the organization
- Support implementation of organizational vision, strategic goals, and ministry objectives
- Help supervise staff, interns, volunteers, and program coordinators
- Maintain operational policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Participate in budgeting, reporting, and organizational planning
- Represent B.R.A.I.N. professionally within the community and at events
Program Oversight
- Assist in coordinating rehabilitation, cognitive, therapeutic, educational, and social support programs for brain injury survivors
- Help evaluate program effectiveness and participant outcomes
- Support development of new classes, support groups, therapies, and survivor services
- Ensure programs reflect compassion, dignity, and individualized care
- Collaborate with therapists, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and referral partners
Client & Family Support
- Help create a welcoming and encouraging environment for survivors and families
- Assist families in accessing resources, referrals, and support services
- Support participant intake, communication, and follow-up processes
- Demonstrate sensitivity toward the emotional, cognitive, and physical challenges associated with brain injury recovery
Community Relations & Development
- Assist with fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and special events
- Help cultivate partnerships with churches, healthcare organizations, rehabilitation centers, and community agencies
- Participate in grant support activities and donor communications
- Promote awareness of brain injury recovery and B.R.A.I.N.’s mission throughout the community
Christian Mission Integration
- Support and uphold the Christian values and Biblical principles of the organization
- Demonstrate compassion, integrity, humility, and servant leadership
- Foster an environment of hope, encouragement, and spiritual sensitivity
