About GiGi’s Playhouse
Founded in 2003, GiGi’s Playhouse is dedicated to changing the way the world views Down syndrome and promoting acceptance for all. Through free educational and therapeutic programs delivered at more than 60 locations across North America, we help individuals with Down syndrome develop skills that support lifelong growth and independence.
Why This Role Matters
Every program, event, and family visit at GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough depends on a welcoming space, a strong volunteer team, engaging programs, and systems that run smoothly. As the Playhouse’s on-site leader, the Site Manager is the steady presence that makes it all possible—and often the first person families, volunteers, and donors meet when they walk through our doors.
Job Description
The Site Manager leads the day-to-day operation of GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough, including volunteer leadership, program scheduling, family engagement, facility and office management, communications, community outreach, and support for Playhouse events and fundraisers. Because GiGi’s Playhouse is powered almost entirely by volunteers, this position plays a central role in making sure programs, events, and activities are staffed and delivered safely, consistently, and in alignment with GiGi’s Playhouse standards.
Working in partnership with the Board of Managers and its committees, the Site Manager keeps the Playhouse running smoothly and connected to the community. The core focus of the role is the work inside the Playhouse, with opportunities to partner with local organizations for outreach and awareness. Success in this position requires sound judgment, strong communication, and flexibility to oversee or cover programs and events as needed, including some evenings and weekends.
All staff serve as ambassadors for GiGi’s Playhouse, helping create a welcoming and inclusive environment for families, volunteers, donors, and community partners. GiGi’s Playhouse challenges all staff and volunteers to embody our core values: Enthusiasm, Best of All, Get It Done, Believe, and Locally Concerned, Enterprise Minded.
Candidates with experience in nonprofit management, operations, volunteer management, or community programming are encouraged to apply.
