    Description

    The Islamic Arts Society is seeking a Development Director to develop and maintain relationships with our partners and donors.

    Job Description & Qualifications

    The prospective candidate will preferably have a strong background in management and an interest in the arts.

    Compensation and Hours

    This position is 20 hours per week at $50 per hour. Travel allowance $200 per month

    These hours include 8 hours per week in person (spread over 2 days), with the remaining 12 hours available for remote work or program attendance.

    Location

    This role is partly remote and partly in-person, with work out of the Islamic Arts Society office in Spring, TX. Some meetings and events may take place in the evenings or on weekends across town, and every effort will be made to schedule them in advance.

    Responsibilities

    Donor & Sponsor Relations and Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors and sponsors, ensuring positive experience and ongoing engagement.

    Diversify Sources of Funding: Develop strategies to expand and diversify the organization's funding base, including exploring new revenue streams and fundraising opportunities.

    Recurring Gift and Corporate Programs: Design and implement programs to encourage and manage recurring donations, ensuring consistent and reliable revenue for the organization.

    Represent the Organization: Attend a majority of the organization’s events throughout the year and serve as the primary point of contact for donors, foundations, sponsors, and corporate partners.

    Build Relationships: Foster and maintain ongoing partnerships with partner organizations, community leaders, and key stakeholders to support the organization’s goals and initiatives.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in donor management, public relations, and community engagement.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences
    • Ability to represent the organization with professionalism and enthusiasm.
    • Availability to attend a variety of events, including evenings and weekends, as required.
    • Experience in relationship-building and partnership development.
    • Prior corporate or non-profit experience is essential.
