    About the People & Culture Generalist Role:

    BRIC seeks a People & Culture Generalist to assist with administration for a department that prioritizes an employee-first approach. The People & Culture Generalist will act as an Human Resource Information System (HRIS) administrator, supporting primarily with payroll processing and general departmental administration.

    What You’ll Do in the Role:

    The People & Culture Generalist will be responsible for the following in addition to any other duties as assigned by their supervisor, the Associate Director of People & Culture:

    • Oversee the bi-weekly closure of time and attendance; review and verify timecards to ensure completion, accuracy, and supervisor approvals.
    • Work with the Associate Director of People & Culture to make payroll adjustments in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), ensuring accuracy and detailed record keeping of adjustments.
    • Manage all personnel files to ensure compliance and up-to-date record keeping, including supporting the transition of physical files to digital formats.
    • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, responding promptly to resolve discrepancies or issues.
    • Support updates to the HRIS and act as a point of contact to help resolve HRIS and payroll-related questions.
    • Generate regular and ad hoc reports on employee data through ADP.
    • Support the distribution and administration of employee-related materials and benefits, including W-2 forms, transit cards, physical payroll checks, and other required documentation.
    • Assist with payroll processing and related administrative updates, including show code creation and quarterly reporting requirements.
    • Provide support for recruitment and onboarding processes, including assisting with candidate screenings, hiring seasonal staff, onboarding logistics, and offboarding coordination.
    • Assist with performance evaluation processes and support the resolution of minor employee relations matters as needed.
    • Maintain and update People & Culture resources, including documents on the staff intranet, employee directories, staff social platforms, and the organizational chart.
    • Support department-wide initiatives and staff engagement activities, including planning and coordinating bi-weekly all-staff gatherings and meetings.
    • Assist with employee support initiatives, including workspace needs, ID badge creation, and other staff accommodations.
    • Support invoicing and administrative processes related to departmental expenses.
    • Other duties as assigned.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance existing Human Resource skills. While prior experience is valued, candidates with exceptional problem-solving abilities can compensate for limited experience.

    • Compensation: The annual salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000.
    • Status and location: This is a full-time, exempt role based in our Brooklyn office.

BRIC currently pays 100% of the premium for employee medical, dental and vision coverage starting on the first of the month after 2 months of employment.
