Work to Protect Virginia’s Parks in our Canvassing and Field Manager Positions
Viriginia’s parks are where we go to fish, hike, and camp, and where wildlife find refuge. But after years of underfunding, they are starting to fall apart - sewers are cracking, roads are collapsing, and the parks are understaffed. With 8 million visitors each year, we’re loving our parks to death.
Environment Virginia is urging state leaders to pass the Virginia Great Outdoors Act, which would create a consistent funding source for our state parks, trails, and other public lands. We are hiring canvassers and field managers in our Washington, D.C. office to educate the public about the issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence decision-makers.
As a canvasser this summer you will:
- Educate and engage citizens on a campaign to make real change on pressing environmental and public interest issues
- Develop essential communication and political advocacy skills
- Build membership and raise money for nonprofit groups in your community
- Earn leadership opportunities, supervising and managing staff in the field
- Gain the experience and connections needed to launch your career in nonprofit and policy work
We are looking for:
- We are seeking hard-working individuals with good communication skills and a passion for social change. We are hiring full-time staff only.
