Description
OVERVIEW
The Eagle Academy Foundation (EAF) challenges systemic barriers, thereby empowering young men of color to achieve their desired educational, career, and life outcomes. EAF’s unique approach is to curate an ecosystem of resources that creates multiple pathways to postsecondary success beyond high school. EAF’s Eagles Soaring Beyond (ESB) is the program that activates Postsecondary Success. The achievement of goals and plans are influenced by the experiences, information, and opportunities provided during high school to aid our young men in making well informed future decisions.
Founded in 2004, The Eagle Academy Foundation (EAF) is a 20-year social impact organization and the largest network devoted to the educational advancement of young men of color in the country. EAF develops and supports six all-male traditional public schools located in all five boroughs of NYC and in Newark, NJ, educating over 2,000 young men of color and graduating 300 annually, with more than 4,000 alumni who are contributing members of their communities and society. Led by a predominantly Black and Brown professional team (84% of staff and 65% of the Board represent the communities EAF serves), the organization is grounded in lived experience and driven by genuine commitment to the young men it exists for.
