    Description

    About Us

Anthos|Home is an innovative nonprofit transforming the way New Yorkers with housing subsidies locate and secure stable housing. Modeled after Brilliant Corners in California, we streamline the apartment search, approval, and move-in process while addressing gaps in the NYC voucher system. Our mission is to be a game-changer for New Yorkers who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness by expanding housing access and helping households move quickly into safe, stable homes.

    The Role

The Housing Unit Readiness & Repairs Specialist reports to the Housing Unit Readiness Supervisor and plays a critical role in preparing apartments for successful tenant placement. This position works closely with landlords, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure units meet program requirements and are ready for move-in as quickly as possible.

The Specialist manages the repair and readiness process for apartments in Anthos|Home programs, helping remove barriers that can delay voucher holders from accessing housing. This role combines field work, vendor coordination, and data management. The Specialist will track repair progress, maintain accurate records in internal systems, and ensure units meet inspection and compliance standards so tenants can move into stable housing quickly and safely.

    Key Responsibilities

Support the preparation of safe, compliant apartments so New Yorkers using housing vouchers can move into stable housing as quickly as possible.

    • Manage the end-to-end repair and unit readiness process for Anthos|Home’s core program and Fast Lane initiative in collaboration with the Department of Social Services (DSS), including inspections, repair scoping, contractor coordination, and project completion.
    • Conduct unit inspections, assess repair needs, estimate timelines and costs, and ensure apartments meet program and housing quality standards prior to tenant move-in.
    • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and landlords to schedule and oversee repairs, ensuring work is completed efficiently and meets compliance requirements.
    • Conduct final inspections in collaboration with the Aftercare Operations Specialist to confirm units are ready for tenant placement.
    • Submit Apartment Review Checklists (ARCs) and manage related communications with DSS for the Fast Lane initiative.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, vendors, and costs within Salesforce and other internal systems, including photos, videos, and written updates.
    • Generate repair status reports and updates for internal teams and stakeholders to support coordination and program tracking.
    • Manage repair-related invoicing and expense submissions in coordination with the Finance team.
    • Respond to tenant repair inquiries and post-move-in issues, and identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships with property providers interested in expanding their work with Anthos|Home.
    • Attend early morning and/or evening industry housing events as required
    • Other duties as assigned
