Position Summary
The Donor & Volunteer Associate plays a key role in advancing JF&CS’s mission by managing volunteer engagement, supporting donor stewardship, and assisting with select events that strengthen relationships across the JF&CS community. The role collaborates across development, marketing, and program teams to ensure volunteers, donors, and partners experience meaningful, mission‑driven engagement with the organization.
Position Responsibilities
- Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Personalized outreach to donors who make a first-time or increased gift of $500 or more, ensuring timely acknowledgement and providing opportunities for additional engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Donor Engagement and other staff to support strategies that grow and retain the mid‑level donor base ($500–$4,999).
- Qualify donors to identify interest and giving potential, elevating strong prospects to the major gift officer for cultivation.
- Maintain committee rosters and assist with administrative support for donor committees
- Identify and leverage technology solutions to automate and scale donor communications
- Volunteer Engagement & Management
- Recruit, cultivate, and steward volunteers across JF&CS programs.
- Coordinate volunteer placements and help match volunteer talent with program needs.
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for volunteer inquiries, including unique or VIP opportunities for individuals.
- Work with partner organizations to plan and deliver group volunteer activities.
- Maintain and update volunteer information, track volunteer hours, and generate reports.
- Conduct periodic assessments of volunteer experiences and make recommendations for improvement.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Event Support
- Plan and execute a modest calendar of donor‑ and volunteer‑focused events, including an annual Evening of Gratitude, house parties, group volunteer activities, lunch & learns and other initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to vendor coordination, guest list management, communications, and on‑site assistance.
- Provide logistical support for board meetings
- Attend select events during evenings or weekends as required.
- Collaborate with professional event planners as needed for larger events.

- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to articulate JF&CS’s mission, programs, and impact with clarity and passion.
- Works respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team‑oriented environment.
- Upholds organizational policies, ethical fundraising standards, and confidentiality guidelines, including a high level of discretion when working with donors and confidential information.
- Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in a dynamic, mission‑driven environment.
- Ability to travel locally for donor meetings and events.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for donor or agency events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in nonprofits, volunteer coordination, donor engagement, or related administrative roles.
- Knowledge of Jewish community preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM databases preferred.
