    Description

    K9 Youth Alliance, a Los Angeles based nonprofit that empowers underserved youth and enriches the lives of dogs living in shelters, seeks a part-time Educational Facilitator (~40 hours per 3-week program plus meetings) to lead classroom-based socioemotional learning for youth ages 11–18 during our 3-week programs. Working with a collaborative team, the EF delivers a curriculum rooted in humane education and the human–animal connection.

    Responsibilities include: facilitating daily lessons and reflections, supporting youth engagement, preparing materials, participating in staff meetings and uploading student work.

    Qualifications: prior youth development experience; strong communication and active listening skills; creativity, reliability and professionalism. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Drive preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

    Physical requirements: ability to be active for 3+ hours, lift up to 25 lbs and respond quickly in emergencies. Pay is commensurate with experience; credentialing costs are covered.

    Benefits

    This position accrues sick time up to 40 hours annually, is eligible for Calsavers retirement contributions and qualifies for merit pay increases after one calendar year of employment.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Conversational Spanish a plus.
