Position Overview
WPO is seeking a relationship-driven Director of Partnerships to help drive organizational growth, expand sponsorship and partnership revenue, and cultivate meaningful external relationships that support WPO’s mission and long-term vision.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in relationship-based business development, enjoys building strategic partnerships, and can balance growth strategy with strong execution and follow-through.
The Director of Partnerships will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to identify opportunities, cultivate sponsors and partners, support membership growth initiatives, and help strengthen WPO’s overall revenue ecosystem.
This is not a transactional sales role. Success in this position requires relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, executive presence, creativity, and the ability to develop long-term partnerships aligned with WPO’s values and community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships & Sponsorships
- Identify, cultivate, and grow strategic corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospective sponsors and partners
- Build thoughtful, customized partnership opportunities aligned with sponsor goals and WPO’s mission
- Support sponsor renewals, relationship expansion, and long-term engagement
- Work closely with the CEO on high-level sponsor relationships and strategic partnership development
- Coordinate sponsor activations with follow-through to ensure an excellent partner experience
Growth & Revenue Development
- Help identify and develop innovative partnership and revenue models
- Collaborate with leadership on sponsorship strategy, pricing, packaging, and partner engagement
- Track partnership pipeline activity, goals, and outcomes
- Support fundraising and partnership initiatives for the Foundation of the WPO, including grants, corporate and individual giving.
Relationship Management
- Serve as a key relationship manager for sponsors and strategic partners
- Build strong ongoing relationships across sponsor organizations and partner networks
- Ensure sponsors and partners feel connected, valued, and aligned with WPO’s mission and community
- Work cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver a high-quality partner experience
Collaboration & Organizational Partnership
- Partner closely with marketing, events, member engagement, operations and leadership teams
- Collaborate on sponsorship visibility, storytelling, events, and partner engagement opportunities
- Support strategic initiatives that strengthen WPO’s external positioning and growth, as well as deliver value for our members, via the WPO as well as the Foundation of the WPO
- Other duties as needed

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, sponsorships, membership growth, fundraising, or related relationship-driven roles
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Experience working with executives, business leaders, and corporate partners
- Strong initiative and follow-through
- Strategic thinker who can also execute effectively
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong project management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities
- Passion for supporting women business leaders and entrepreneurship
- Experience in associations, nonprofits, executive communities, media, events, foundations, or mission-driven organizations is a plus

We offer a benefits package including fully paid premiums for the employee for medical and low dental coverage, short and long-term disability insurance, group life/AD&D insurance, and a freshbenies subscription. In addition, you will be eligible to enroll in the safe harbor 401(k) retirement plan with 3% employer contribution after one year of employment.
Our office is fully remote and you will be working from your home. Our working hours are Monday – Thursday, 10am-6pm ET, and on Friday, 10am-2pm ET. You will be entitled to 10 days for sick leave (accrued at the start of employment) and 15 days for vacation (accrued throughout the year at a rate of 1.25 days per month), annually. In addition to the standard US holidays, our office is closed for the Christmas New Year week, so all employees enjoy an additional week of paid vacation.
