    Role Overview:

    The Head of Programs will anchor the design, delivery, and evolution of all organizational programs. This leader is responsible for ensuring that work within institutions and aftercare is deeply impactful, consistent, and scalable while remaining rooted in trauma-informed and dignity-driven values. This role balances strategic oversight with hands-on leadership of program quality, team development, and systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Implememntation & Strategy:

    • Lead the overall program vision in alignment with the organization’s Theory of Change.
    • Oversee implementation across institutions to ensure depth and consistency.
    • Translate organizational approaches into structured, replicable program frameworks
    • Define clear outcomes and success indicators while streamlining program processes.
    • Regularly review session quality and program effectiveness.
    • Refine programs based on ground realities and create spaces for reflection and learning.

    Team Leadership & Capacity Building:

    • Manage and mentor Program Managers and Facilitators.
    • Develop a strong second line of leadership within the organization.
    • Strengthen induction and training systems to build team capacity in facilitation and reflection.
    • Ensure clarity in roles, planning, and ownership across the program team.
    • Support team well-being and implement structures to reduce burnout.

    Partnership & Documentation:

    • Strengthen collaborations with institutions, government, judiciary, and partner organizations.
    • Represent the organization in key program and ecosystem conversations.
    • Provide direction for the meaningful engagement of volunteers and interns.
    • Ensure program documentation captures both processes and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the communications team to translate insights into stories for increased visibility.
    • Support donor reporting and work with finance to track program budgets and expenditures.

    Required Experience & Skillsets:

    • Experience: 7–10+ years in program implementation or management
    • Sector Knowledge: Experience working with children, youth, or vulnerable communities.
    • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of human behavior, emotions, and group dynamics.
    • Facilitation: Proven experience in training or working directly with groups.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated ability in managing and building high-performing teams.
    • Design Mindset: Ability to design and evolve programs, not just execute existing ones.
    • Systems Thinking: Ability to build simple, effective processes.
    • Attributes: Strong ownership, problem-solving ability, and comfort in complex environments.
    • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work across diverse stakeholders.
    • Plus: Experience working with government or institutional systems is highly preferred.
