Spina Bifida occurs during fetal development, resulting in a gap or lesion on the spinal column. It is a lifelong condition that can result in mobility, neurological, bowel & bladder, mental health, and learning challenges, and is the most commonly occurring, permanently disabling birth defect compatible with life.

SBA is a fully remote organization with a small, integrated team. We focus on effectively delivering our mission, operate with a sense of urgency, and believe in work/life balance. The Field Development Manager is responsible for growing SBAA’s reach and engagement in strategically important geographic areas, by:

    • Guiding volunteer-led corporate chapters, and establishing and nurturing new chapters, to deliver local programs and support fundraising
    • Supporting SBAA research, advocacy events, and fundraising events

While this role does not have direct revenue responsibility, the person in this position will work with SBAA development staff to identify and support fundraising opportunities within chapter footprints.

Occasional travel to SBA events is required.

    Fundraising Support

    • Actively seeks opportunities to create and nurture Walk-N-Rolls and community fundraisers within corporate chapters’ geographic areas and collaborates with development staff to bring these opportunities to fruition.
    • Identifies potential corporate or individual donors within corporate chapters’ geographic areas and shares actionable information with development staff.

    Event Support
