Job Summary
Philly Friendship Circle is seeking an exceptional leader to help shape the next chapter of our Teen Leadership programs. Building on our successful Teen Leadership Board, this role will help formalize leadership development, disability inclusion advocacy, Jewish engagement, and community impact opportunities for teens.
The Teen Leadership Coordinator will develop curriculum, mentor teen leaders, launch a new Teen Advocacy Track, and create meaningful opportunities for teens to grow as leaders, advocates, and community builders. The role will help formalize leadership opportunities while maintaining the relationship-centered culture that makes Philly Friendship Circle unique.
This position is ideal for someone who can both connect authentically with teens and build the systems, curriculum, and structure needed to support a thriving leadership program.
Our teen community is remarkably diverse, bringing together teens with and without disabilities, neurodivergent and neurotypical youth, and teens from a wide range of socioeconomic and Jewish backgrounds. Together, they represent more than 30 schools across the Greater Philadelphia region. The ideal candidate is excited to connect with and inspire teens from many different backgrounds and experiences.
The Friendship Circle of the Philadelphia Region South serves Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware Counties and is founded by Chabad-Lubavitch.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- May supervise interns, volunteers, and teen leaders as assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities
Overall
- Ensure Jewish practice and learning are thoughtfully infused throughout leadership experiences, advocacy initiatives, and broader Philly Friendship Circle programming.
- Create systems to track participation, leadership growth, and program outcomes.
Teen Leadership, Advocacy & Jewish Engagement
- Coordinate and facilitate Teen Leadership Board meetings, workshops, and leadership opportunities.
- Mentor teen leaders as they carry out responsibilities, lead initiatives, and build skills in public speaking, fundraising, event leadership, advocacy, community engagement, and peer mentorship.
- Develop, launch, and lead a new Teen Advocacy Track focused on disability inclusion, belonging, allyship, and community impact.
- Develop leadership curriculum, lesson plans, workshops, and educational materials.
Teen Education & Engagement
- Lead Friendship 101, our interactive pre-Sunday Circle workshops, creating engaging experiences that help teens explore disability inclusion, friendship skills, leadership, and Jewish values.
- Co-facilitate MVP, our introductory leadership and inclusion program for 6th and 7th graders.
- Create meaningful learning experiences that inspire teens to grow as leaders, advocates, and friends.
Program & Staff Team Participation
- Serve as an active member of the Philly Friendship Circle staff team.
- Participate in Sunday events, evening programming, and special events throughout the year.
- Support programs and events with a particular focus on Jewish life, learning, leadership, and inclusion.
- Contribute ideas, energy, and creativity to the ongoing growth of Philly Friendship Circle programming.

- Ability to create and facilitate leadership, belonging, disability inclusion, and identity-building experiences for teens.
- Ability to engage others in Jewish learning and Jewish living.
- Strong facilitation, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, moving easily between both.
- Open-mindedness and a willingness to experience the world from new perspectives.
- Comfort engaging with teens from diverse backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and Jewish affiliations.
- Creativity, warmth, youthful energy, and enthusiasm.
- Comfort and familiarity representing a Chabad-Lubavitch founded organization and incorporating Jewish values, culture, and traditions into programming and participant experiences.
- Driver's license and access to a car strongly preferred.
Salary Range
Part-time position. Salary commensurate with experience.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in informal Jewish education, youth development, leadership development, advocacy, education, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with children, teens, and families.
- Experience creating engaging, inclusive, and identity-building experiences for teens.
- Experience developing curriculum and facilitating educational programming.
- Experience with teen leadership development.
- Experience living and promoting the values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively participate in programs and events.
- Ability to engage in physical activities with participants as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
