    Description

    About College Together

American higher education is in crisis: costs keep climbing and graduation rates remain stubbornly low. Too many Philadelphia students are left without an affordable, proven path to a degree. We can and must do better.

College Together (CT) is a Philadelphia nonprofit building a new and trusted college option for our city's young adults. Through a "fusion college" partnership with Southern New Hampshire University, the nation's largest nonprofit university, CT students earn an accredited associate's or bachelor's degree with little to no debt. The curriculum is project-based and online, but no one does it alone: students get daily, one-on-one, in-person support and a tight-knit community at our downtown CT Campus.

    About the Position

CT is hiring a full-time Admissions & Recruitment Specialist to bring the next class of learners through our doors. You will report to our Manager of Admissions and Recruitment and join a small, close-knit team.

This is a highly relational, field-facing role. Most of your week will be spent in Philadelphia's high schools, community organizations, and college access programs, telling CT's story and building relationships with the counselors and leaders who send students our way. Back at campus, you will help manage our prospective student pipeline and guide learners' first conversation to the first day of class. Will have prior knowledge of and help build out our CRM (Element451) and database capabilities to assist the admissions team in using it to its full capacity.

    Responsibilities

    • Spend a large portion of your week in the field recruiting prospective students and building relationships with school counselors, school leaders, and community partners across Philadelphia
    • Support the ongoing build-out and optimization of Element451, our CRM, by designing and refining pipelines, admission rules, automated communications, and dashboards
    • Manage your own prospective student database with timely, consistent follow-up by phone, text, email, and in person touch points
    • Keep recruitment data clean and use CRM reporting to spot trends, measure what's working, and focus effort where it moves enrollment
    • Deliver multiple presentations each week at high schools, community organizations, and college access events
    • Coordinate applicants through every step of CT's admissions and enrollment process, from first inquiry through orientation and term start
    • Help incoming students navigate FAFSA, meet financial aid requirements, and track outstanding documentation.
    • Plan and staff recruitment events, info sessions, and campus visits for prospective students and families
    • Work with the Communications team to keep outreach materials and messaging accurate and compelling for prospective students
    • Add your strategic voice to a fast-moving, outcomes-focused team building a nonprofit that is impactful, sustainable, and scalable

    Qualifications

We are especially excited about candidates who share proximity to our learners: people who worked while attending college, went the community college route on the way to a bachelor's, were an adult or parent learner, or in some other way took a path other than the so-called "traditional" one.

Commitment to our mission, fit with our team, and a learning mindset matter more to us than checking every box or being fully competent on day one. That said, our ideal candidate:

    • Has in-depth, hands-on CRM experience in higher education, sales, or a related field (Element451, Slate, Salesforce, or similar), including configuring workflows, automations, communication campaigns, and reports, not just entering data
    • Holds a bachelor's or associate's degree and is passionate about helping others earn theirs
    • Has experience in recruitment, admissions, college access, sales, or community outreach
    • Familiarity with FAFSA and the financial aid process preferred.
    • Is a confident public speaker who connects with diverse and sometimes challenging audiences
    • Knows Philadelphia's neighborhoods, schools, and educational landscape
    • Communicates professionally across multiple mediums: in person, phone, text, email, and Zoom (a second language is a bonus)
    • Is organized and self-driven, with the punctuality and follow-through to work independently in the field
    • Is comfortable in Google Workspace
    • Holds a valid driver's license with access to a car (required)
    • Is available to work some evenings and weekends as needed

You Could Be a Great Fit at CT If You...

    • Believe the higher education system needs a new type of institution, grounded in equity and student-centered thinking
    • Light up when you help a young person see college as possible for them
    • Get real satisfaction from turning a messy process into a clean, well-built system
    • Are a skilled relationship builder who remembers names and follows up
    • Enjoy challenging conventional wisdom and a hearty, healthy debate
    • Like to work on a small, close-knit team where your opinion is valued and you are a thought partner in the direction of the organization
    • Strive to be better every day and hold a mindset of continuous learning
