5th/6th Grade Science (6th Grade Homeroom) Teacher

Saint Saviour Catholic Academy is searching for a dedicated Science teacher to join our team. As a Science teacher, you will be required to deliver lessons that develop students' understanding of the concepts outlined in the fifth and sixth grade Science curriculums. You will also be responsible for assigning homework, grading assignments and quizzes, and documenting and communicating students' progress to families. This position will also include a fifth grade homeroom.

The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. The candidate will create a stimulating learning environment that encompasses our philosophy of educating the whole child.

The candidate should be a practicing Catholic and ideally have previous teaching experience and demonstrate excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Experience teaching Middle School preferred.

The position begins in September 2026, with a competitive salary based on experience. Teacher Responsibilities:

Creating lesson plans and selecting learning materials and resources that will help

achieve curriculum objectives.

Analyzing needs, interests, strengths, and weaknesses of students as well as developing lesson

plans in accordance with these factors.

Monitoring progress and discipline in order to keep parents and school administrators/counselors informed of learners who need extra support.

Establishing classroom rules, routines and procedures.

Requesting appropriate materials and learning aids.

Participating in school events and acting as a chaperone when required.

Attending meetings, staff training, parent conferences, and other ongoing learning programs.

Other duties as assigned by the President and/or Principal.

Science Teacher Requirements:

Degree in Education

Master’s degree and initial certification preferred.

Strong cultural sensitivity.

Medical, Dental and 403 B Retirement Plan

Strong written and oral communications skills.
