    JOB PURPOSE

    Under the guidance of the Director of Church Engagement, the Church Engagement Officer drives strategic fundraising partnerships with churches across the Western United States by building and managing a dynamic portfolio of relationships. This role guides each church into deeper engagement—through generosity, prayer, and action—building tailored pathways that grow their investment and mobilize a network of committed partners fueling the rescue, healing, and transformation of lives in Jesus’ name and in Jesus’ way.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    I.E. THOSE THAT ARE BASIC, NECESSARY, AND AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE JOB

    CHURCH RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENT

    • Identify, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with churches to grow long-term engagement in AIM’s mission.
    • Build trust with church leaders by nurturing, challenging, and guiding deeper partnership.
    • Travel as needed for in-person engagement, including church visits, conferences, campaigns, and speaking opportunities.
    • Participate in international trips (Southeast Asia and Central America) to strengthen church understanding, trust, and connection to the mission.
    • Leverage key moments, campaigns, and engagement opportunities to deepen partnership and increase long-term commitment.

    PORTFOLIO & MOVES MANAGEMENT EXECUTION

    • Manage and actively steward a dynamic portfolio of church relationships.
    • Consistently move churches through AIM’s Moves Management system (Identify, Qualify, Cultivate, Solicit, Steward), ensuring no relationship stalls.
    • Develop and execute personalized engagement and connection plans based on each church’s capacity and readiness.
    • Ensure consistent execution of Moves Management frameworks, systems, and processes.

    REVENUE GROWTH & STRATEGIC FUNDRAISING

    • Secure financial support with an initial portfolio goal of $400,000, with clear expectations for year-over-year growth.
    • Develop and execute strategic asks, proposals, and follow-up aligned to each church’s engagement level.
    • Partner in achieving AIM’s overall fundraising goals, contributing to both immediate revenue and long-term sustainability.
    • Maintain a forward-looking revenue forecast and proactively address gaps.

    COMMUNICATION, STORYTELLING & DONOR EXPERIENCE

    • Deliver compelling, mission-aligned communication that connects church generosity to lives rescued, healed, and communities transformed.
    • Provide consistent updates that reinforce impact, trust, and partnership.
    • Own and execute special campaigns, initiatives, and awareness opportunities that drive engagement and giving.

    DATA, REPORTING & PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION

    • Accurately record all interactions and activities in CRM, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights.
    • Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, adjusting strategies to improve retention, upgrade giving, and growth.
    • Use data to inform decision-making and increase effectiveness.

    TEAM COLLABORATION & ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Advancement team to align strategy, messaging, and donor experience.
    • Actively contribute to team planning, meetings, and initiatives to strengthen overall effectiveness.
    • Travel to USHQ as needed for strategic planning and team alignment.
    • Adhere to AIM’s fund development policies to ensure integrity and excellence.
    • Support continuous improvement of fundraising strategies, systems, and tools.
    • Perform additional duties as needed to advance the mission and team success.

    ANTICIPATED TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    Domestic travel with the possibility of 2-3 International trips annually.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    KEY RELATIONSHIPS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required or equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or relational engagement roles, with a proven track record of growing partnerships and revenue.
    • Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio and moving partners through a strategic engagement or moves management process.
    • Background in church leadership or pastoral ministry strongly preferred, with a deep understanding of church culture, rhythms, and decision-making dynamics.
