    Description

    Position Overview

Purrfect Pals is seeking a Development & Donor Experience Coordinator who is both highly organized and deeply people-oriented. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes with data and systems, while also actively engaging with donors, supporters, and the community.

This position plays a key role in creating meaningful donor experiences — from first interaction through long-term engagement — while ensuring our fundraising efforts are organized, strategic, and impactful.

Working closely with the Director of Development, this role helps drive campaigns, support events, strengthen donor relationships, and bring structure to how we grow and sustain our support base.

    What You’ll Do

    Build and Maintain Donor Relationships

    • Conduct outreach to donors through calls, emails, and follow-up
    • Support and participate in donor meetings, tours, and cultivation opportunities
    • Help create thoughtful and consistent stewardship experiences
    • Assist in moving donors from first-time giving to deeper engagement

    Support Fundraising Campaigns

    • Coordinate and execute email, mail, and digital campaigns
    • Help prepare donor communications, including newsletters and appeals
    • Build and manage targeted donor lists
    • Track campaign performance and support ongoing improvements

    Plan and Support Events

    • Support planning and execution of the Black Cat Ball and smaller events
    • Coordinate logistics, timelines, and materials
    • Assist with sponsorship tracking and outreach
    • Help manage auction procurement and donor communication
    • Support donor-focused events such as brunches, tours, and community gatherings

    Manage Data and Systems

    • Maintain accurate donor records in DonorPerfect
    • Track gifts, pledges, and donor interactions
    • Support segmentation and campaign targeting
    • Implement and maintain tracking systems, including source codes
    • Ensure data integrity to support strong decision-making

    Track Performance and Support Growth

    • Generate reports on donor activity, campaigns, and events
    • Track sponsorship pipeline and outreach progress
    • Identify trends and opportunities for increased engagement
    • Support development of reporting tools and dashboards

    Represent Purrfect Pals

    • Engage with donors, volunteers, and the public at events and community opportunities
    • Help create welcoming, mission-driven experiences
    • Serve as a positive and professional representative of the organization

    What This Role Is Not

This position focuses on donor engagement, fundraising support, and data coordination. It does not include financial accounting or bookkeeping responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Comfortable managing both data and people-facing interactions
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with CRM systems (DonorPerfect preferred)
    • Interest in fundraising, events, and relationship-building
    • Passion for animal welfare and mission-driven work

    What Success Looks Like

    • Donor data is accurate, organized, and actionable
    • Donors receive timely, thoughtful communication and follow-up
    • Campaigns are well-executed and improving over time
    • Events are organized, engaging, and mission-aligned
    • Donor engagement and retention continue to grow
    • The development team operates with greater clarity and structure
