The Facility Services Manager provides hands-on operational leadership for Bible League International’s Crete, IL facility operations, ensuring the building, grounds, and workplace services are safe, clean, welcoming, and fully operational. This role executes and supports the facilities strategy, policies, and priorities established by the Senior Director of Operations & People Services.
Duties
- Lead day-to-day facility services for the Crete, IL office, coordinating work across building, grounds, and common areas to maintain operational readiness.
- Establish daily and weekly priorities; manage service requests and follow-through; escalate items requiring broader alignment or higher-level approval.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and service for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors/locks, lighting, and life-safety systems
- Document and keep up-to-date facility service procedures.
- Perform minor repairs and coordinate contractors/vendors for larger work; verify quality, completion, and closeout.
- Coordinate grounds and seasonal readiness, including landscaping, exterior cleanliness, drains, and snow/ice response plans and execution.
- Support custodial readiness for high-touch areas, restrooms, floors, and common spaces through internal coordination and/or vendor oversight.
- Coordinate workspace and meeting space setups, furniture moves, and conference room readiness in partnership with Hospitality and IT as needed.
- Maintain facility documentation including service logs, equipment inventories, warranties, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Assist with purchasing, quotes, and stewardship of facility-related budgets in alignment with organizational standards and approvals.
- Provide logistical and operational support for special projects, improvements, and events, coordinating timelines and resources as needed.
- Ensure response readiness for facility issues during operational and non-operational hours, coordinating appropriate internal and external support.
- Performs additional duties as required.

Responsible to: Senior Director of Operations & People Services
Responsible for: Facilities Operations Support Technician and assigned contractors/service partners
Collaborates with: staff across the organization, working closely and effectively.
Qualifications
- Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
- Bachelor's degree in facility maintenance or management preferred.
- 5 years or more work experience in the building facility maintenance profession required and 5 years or more experience in supervising.
- Proficiency in technology and building automation systems is required.
- Must possess a strong business background.
- Strong planning, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, oral, and written communication skills are required.
- Must possess tact, maturity, and the ability to lead teams.
- Should be capable of making decisions and initiating new strategies.
- Must be able to work with mobility, agility, and lift items of up to 75lbs along with physical ability to safely climb ladders and access building rooftops as needed to support facilities operations.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to lead and manage without direct supervision.
- Must be able to handle confidential information with the highest degree of dependability.
- Working knowledge of the major trade disciplines to manage physical facilities and interact with vendors.
- Deals with others with fairness and promotes a climate of mutual trust. Makes decisions based on sound ethical, biblical, and moral standards. Demonstrates humility, maturity, and accountability in their behavior and attitudes.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate organizational vehicle as required.

Performance Evaluations
You will meet with your manager quarterly in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss your accomplishments and priorities.
