    Description

    Purpose

    The Anti-Trafficking Case Worker is responsible for providing trauma-informed, client centered intensive case management to survivors of sex and labor trafficking. The Caseworker will work closely with community partners, justice and victim organizations, and law enforcement to walk with clients through the process of finding safety and self-sufficiency. The Caseworker is responsible for client assessments, intensive case management, and safety planning, in addition to community outreach and engagement. The Caseworker will assist with training and education to community members and service providers and will report to the State Director.

    This is a temporary part time position and duration will vary based on funding.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a client point-of-contact, in coordination with the Senior Caseworker for CWS’ NorCal’s Anti-Trafficking Program.
    • Complete client assessments, safety planning, resource referrals, and community and health navigation. Conduct in-person and virtual visits with clients, while developing a comprehensive service plan to support the needs of survivors of trafficking.
    • Ensure warm hand-off to victim service agencies and other providers for relevant service areas such as victim compensation, legal representations, medical and mental health care, public benefits, and housing.
    • Coordinate services with the California Victim Compensation Board and state courts/law enforcement, as needed.
    • Independently track access to resources, provide close support to address barriers, and ensure client safety and stability.
    • Research and identify resources in communities where clients reside. Work virtually to develop partnerships and referrals throughout the northern coastal and coastal areas of Northern California.
    • Monitor the safety and well-being of clients and ensure appropriate shelter and care.
    • Serve as a mandated reporter.
    • In collaboration with the Senior Anti-Trafficking Caseworker, provide training and education to other services providers, community members, volunteers and interns, and other relevant parties.
    • Write case notes, enter data, and complete case file and program reports in a time-sensitive manner. Ensure confidentiality of client information.
    • Assist with tracking donations and client assistance payments.
    • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and trainings as assigned.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or related field preferred.
    • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

    Experience

    • 3+ years of professional case management experience with vulnerable populations in social service, non-profit setting.
    • Thorough knowledge and comfort supporting others in crisis situations.
    • Experience with client safety planning and navigating victim services.
    • Prior experience identifying local community social services and other resources required.
    • Experience providing virtual and in-person services to clients.

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Strong computer skills required. Prior experience using data and tracking systems is strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of human trafficking dynamics and victim service systems preferred.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across regional programs.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with case documentation, data tracking systems, and grant reporting preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
    • Ability to travel throughout the coastal and rural north of Northern California as required.
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

    • Standard work hours with occasional evening or weekend assignment 
    • This is a temporary, part-time position contingent on funding.

    Instructions:
