    • Design and implement targeted outreach strategies to recruit volunteers from community centers, faith-based organizations, retiree networks, corporate volunteer programs, colleges/universities, and local partnerships.
    • Promote volunteer opportunities that support mentorship, vocational coaching, enrichment activities, and social enterprise engagement. In addition, this position will provide support for social events and opportunities for both current and former participants.
    • Represent Mychal’s Learning Place at community events, fundraisers, art shows, and volunteer fairs to expand visibility and participation.

    Training & Onboarding

    • Develop and facilitate structured onboarding and training sessions to prepare volunteers to work effectively with individuals with IDD.

    • Ensure all volunteers complete required screenings, documentation, and compliance requirements.

    Program Coordination & Supervision

    • Match volunteers with youth and young adults based on skills, interests, and program needs.
    • Coordinate volunteer placements across Mychal’s afterschool programs, adult day program, and social enterprises.
    • Provide ongoing supervision, support, and feedback to volunteers to ensure high-quality engagement and retention.
    • Collaborate closely with program staff to integrate volunteers into daily activities and ensure alignment with participant goals.

    Community Connection & Engagement

    • Plan and support inclusive intergenerational events, including volunteer recognition days, community celebrations, fundraisers, and art shows.
    • Foster meaningful relationships among volunteers, participants, families, and staff to strengthen community connection and reduce isolation.
    • Support storytelling and engagement efforts that highlight the impact of volunteerism.

    Evaluation & Data Collection

    • Track volunteer engagement metrics, including recruitment, retention, hours served, and program participation.
    • Collect qualitative and quantitative data to measure outcomes for both individuals with IDD and older adult volunteers.
    • Contribute to reports and evaluations that support continuous improvement and inform replication of the intergenerational model.

    Program Growth & Sustainability

    • Support the development of systems and tools that strengthen volunteer program infrastructure.
    • Assist in documenting best practices and lessons learned to support replication and scaling.
    • Collaborate with leadership on sustainability planning and future funding opportunities related to volunteer engagement.
