Fiesta Schoolyards (www.fiestaschoolyards.org) is a project of the Lindy Foundation, a nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to transform schoolyards with fun, colorful environments that engage the hearts and minds of the school children, with a low-cost, quick and scalable methodology.
The Project Coordinator will help Fiesta Schoolyards build its local capacity to transform and enrich the play opportunities for Philadelphia school children and the local community in 100 schools (at a rate of 10+ schools per year) by supporting the Executive Director and Founder. This role will support all aspects of Fiesta Schoolyards projects from design through completion. This includes coordinating with engineers on design development, managing renovation schedules with schools and contractors, and conducting site visits to observe progress and address any challenges that arise.
The role also involves assisting with problem-solving around design or logistical issues, researching current and potential play amenities, planning and coordinating dedication events, managing the organization’s social media platforms, and assisting with program and project needs as they arise.
This is a full-time position, which is largely remote but does require one day (Thursdays) in the office in Jenkintown and site visits to the schoolyards in Philadelphia. Plan and coordinate Fiesta Schoolyard projects. - Prep and initial work.
