    Description

    About Family Hope Foundation

Family Hope Foundation has an unwavering belief in the value, worth, and ability of each and every person. We want all families to have a place in which to turn and feel supported—a place where they can find hope again. As an established 501(c)3 nonprofit, our work removes barriers to help make critical therapies possible for individuals with disabilities.

    Position Overview

The Development Director will be responsible for building, leading, and growing Family Hope Foundation’s donor base and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will work with staff and the Board of Trustees to drive revenue across individuals, community foundations, corporate donors, and event sponsorship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Development Strategy and Sustainable Revenue Growth: In partnership with the Executive Director, provide strategic direction to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan aligned with the strategic plan to meet the organization's financial goals. This may involve planning and executing annual appeals, managing individual giving programs (including major gifts and recurring donors), procuring sponsorships for family events, supporting grant research and writing, leading the volunteer Development Committee, and reporting on fundraising metrics.
    • Donor Cultivation, Stewardship, & Retention: Build and deepen relationships with individual donors, major gift prospects, planned giving prospects, foundations, and corporate partners. In collaboration with staff, develop communication plans to engage and nurture current donors, while identifying and soliciting new donors.
    • Individual/Major and Planned Giving Development: Build a long-term strategy for major, planned, and endowment giving that strengthens Family Hope Foundation’s financial sustainability.

    Working Conditions:

    • This is a remote position with flexible working hours. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
    • The position reports to the Executive Director with no supervisory responsibilities.
    • Occasional travel may be necessary for donor visits and community engagement activities.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
    • 5-7 years of proven experience in fundraising and donor relations, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
    • Proven success in donor cultivation and revenue generation.
    • Familiarity with donor databases / CRM systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
    • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
    • Strategic thinker and entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to recognize opportunities and proactively pursue them.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Passion for the mission of Family Hope Foundation and a commitment to supporting the disability community.

    Salary:

    • This is a part-time position (20-25 hours per week), with an annual salary range of $35,000–$45,000 depending on experience. Recognizing this is a part-time role, priorities for the Development Director will be established annually in partnership with the Executive Director to focus strictly on the highest-value fundraising opportunities.

Family Hope Foundation is an equal opportunity employer and encourages qualified candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
